Welcome To First Baptist Church of Lamar
Dear First Family and Friends,
We are quickly approaching Easter Sunday. The resurrection of Jesus Christ stands at the center of the Christian faith. Without it, the cross would be a tragic ending. With it, the cross becomes the triumphant beginning of God’s new creation. The empty tomb is not merely a symbol of hope; it is the historical, bodily victory of Jesus over sin, death, and the grave.
Scripture declares that on the third day, God raised His Son in power. This was not a spiritual metaphor or a private vision. It was a real event witnessed by real people whose lives were forever changed.
But the resurrection is not only about what happened to Jesus—it is about what happens to us through Him. Because Christ lives, all who trust in Him are made alive. His victory becomes our victory. His future becomes our future. The resurrection assures believers that death does not have the final word. For every Christian, the grave is not a destination but a doorway.
In a world marked by fear, uncertainty, and loss, the resurrection announces a hope that cannot be shaken. Jesus Christ is alive, and because He is alive, we can face tomorrow with confidence. The risen Lord still saves, still reigns, and still walks with His people. The resurrection is not just a doctrine to affirm—it is the power that transforms every believer’s life.
Keeping the Main Thing, the main thing,
